Sherrie Frontz claimed that before Curves, she was a couch potato that never left the house. She had no energy and felt bad all the time. In March of 2005, Sherrie began working out at Curves three times a week and following the Six Week Solution plan. The weight began dropping off and her energy level started rising. Her quality of life has also improved both mentally and physically. She no longer suffers from the migraines that plagued her for the majority of her life, her blood pressure is the lowest it has ever been and her cholesterol dropped to normal. Sherri says, "I have so much energy I look for things to do! I have added walking to my Curves program and I feel good! I have tried to lose weight before, but nothing worked until Curves."

  • “It really is possible to get fit at 50! Curves not only helped me lose the weight, but it helped firm up much of my stretched skin and reshape me into a much younger body.”

Lucy Cushman is reminded of the Dionne Warwick song, "Promises, Promises" when she thinks about her success with Curves. Lucy's mother died when she was 29 years old from, as Lucy says, "the complications of obesity and smoking." She promised herself that she would learn from her mother's mistakes but as a wife and mother of two daughters, Lucy slowly let herself go. At the age of 48 she weight 250 pounds. Then Lucy decided it was time change her life. She joined Curves on March 8, 2004 and began following the Curves diet shortly thereafter. "This was the beginning of my metamorphosis of healthy weight loss. Gradually but consistently, the pounds and inches began to melt away as I made many changes in my life style." After one year she had lost a total of 100 pounds, more than 75 inches, and shrunk from a size 22 to a size 6! She continues to work out regularly and has maintained her current weight of approximately 140 pounds (give or take 5) for almost 2 years.
Lucy says, "I can not imagine my life without Curves and wonderful supportive employees and new friends. I have been told numerous times by many members, that I am an inspiration to them and I am always quick to let them know how much of an inspiration it is to me to be inspiring! The energy that I get from my Curves friends is life blood to me now and I love sharing my energy with any woman who needs it! This is my New Promise!"

  • “Because of the extra weight I was carrying around, my blood pressure was high and I was put on medication for over a year. But after losing 50 pounds through Curves, my doctor took me off my prescription. And I plan to keep it that way.”

On December 28, 2006, Mary Daniel went into her Curves location and was totally taken by surprise! There on the back wall was a very large banner which read:

Congratulations
Mary Daniel
For losing 100 pounds the Curves way!

A lot of fellow Curves members had signed the banner with words of encouragement and expressions of congratulations and good will. It has been this sort of encouragement that has made her a true believer in Curves.

Before Mary Daniel joined Curves in 2004 she had already had both hips replaced. She was a self-described "couch potato." "The only thing I did was hobble to work 5 days a week, come home and dive into my Lazy Boy chair until bedtime... I was on a dead end street and I had two choices; one was to just give up and lie there or the second was to do something." After seeing her daughter's success with Curves (she had lost 80 pounds), she decided to join the Six Week Solution Class. On September 16, 2005, she weighed in at 316 pounds. After the six week diet class she had lost over 20 pounds and 17.75 inches. "Curves had just given me the first step to heal myself." Within the next month she began the Curves exercise program. Not only did she start seeing the pounds melt away, but her blood pressure lowered so much she was able to get off of her medication.Mary is no longer a "couch potato."
"I can now look back at my life and see that I was on a one way trip to nowhere! With the new attitude that has come with the shedding of some excess pounds and a renewed view of me, I don't just want to sit back in my Lazy Boy and watch the world go by. I want to become a part of it all. I am looking forward to the time I can retire so I can travel with my husband and see the country. I want to spend quality time with my children and grandchildren, and I want to become a more active, example setting Christian."
